Tuesday, 9th March 2010 Drop Zone - 8th Hole A ball coming to rest on the new buggy path at the left hand side of the 8th green may be lifted and dropped without penalty on to the temporary drop zone provided. A permanent drop zone is being prepared. Ground Committee, Greenock Golf Club. 25th February 2010 Saturday, 6th March 2010 Last night our annual Ladies Section Cheese & Wine evening took place at the Golf Club. Around 50 members and guests attended this fun occasion. It was a great opportunity for everyone to meet up again after the long winter months and prior to the start of the new season. The cheese and the wine were enjoyed by everyone. After the raffle, the evening was rounded off by our compere and captain Linda, with an auction of golf clubs and wine. Tuesday, 2nd March, 2010 Remember - the first competition of the 2010 golfing season is only 9 days away - a 14 Hole Stableford on Thursday, 11th March. All entries have to be in by this Friday, 5th March at 9pm, so can everyone ensure their names are down by then. Hopefully the snow will have melted by next week and the green grass from the golf course will reappear from the winter snow. Sunday, 7th February 2010 The fixture list for the forthcoming 2010 season has now been published. Click here to see the full list of competitions. Our first competition is a 14 Hole Stableford on Thursday, 11th March - only 32 days and counting.............. Wednesday, 3rd February 2010 All members by now should have received further information on the Cheese and Wine Evening. Please let Linda McDougall know by Tuesday, 23rd February whether or not you will be attending. Tuesday, 19th January 2010 Note for your diary The Cheese and Wine Evening will be held on Friday, 5th March at 7.30pm. All ladies will receive a letter by post very soon with more details. This is a perfect opportunity to meet up with everyone after the long winter months. It is also a perfect chance to fix up forthcoming fixtures for the new season - so remember to bring your diaries. Saturday, 9th January 2010 No Relief now from a Seeded Divot As of 1st January 2010, 30 new rules and 49 amendments to rules have been published in the new Decisions of Golf book published by the R & A. The most obvious one and one that all golfers require to know is that now no relief can be obtained from a seeded divot. This comes into effect immediately.
